Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between orange bakelite 3025 and black bakelite 3026?
Orange bakelite (3025 grade) uses cotton cloth reinforcement, providing superior mechanical strength, impact resistance, and machinability. Black bakelite (3026 grade) uses paper reinforcement, offering better electrical insulation properties. For applications requiring balanced electrical and mechanical performance, orange 3025 is preferred.
Can orange bakelite be used in transformer oil?
Yes, 3025 phenolic cotton cloth laminate is suitable for use in transformer oil environments. It maintains its mechanical and electrical properties when immersed in mineral oil.
What's the minimum order quantity?
We have no minimum order quantity for both standard sheets and custom-cut parts. Order 1 piece for testing or prototyping, or bulk quantities for production.
How quickly can you deliver custom-cut parts?
Standard sheets ship within 1-2 business days. Custom cut-to-size orders typically ship within 3-5 business days. Complex CNC machined parts ship within 5-7 business days depending on complexity.
Can bakelite be machined with standard tools?
Yes, bakelite machines well with carbide or high-speed steel cutting tools. It can be drilled, milled, turned, and cut without special equipment. For best results, use sharp tools and moderate cutting speeds to prevent overheating.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Standard international shipping (15-25 business days) is free. Expedited shipping (3-6 business days) is available at additional cost.

CUSTOM FABRICATION
Can't Find the Right Size or Specification?
Send your drawing or dimensions, material grade if known, quantity and intended use. We review feasibility and confirm the specification for each quoted project.
Project Requirements
Identify the critical dimensions, tolerances, surface finish and inspection requirements. Any required food-contact, ESD, flame-retardant or other compliance documents should be specified so availability can be checked. Material names alone do not establish these properties.
Custom Order Process
Submit the requirements for review. The quotation will identify the agreed specification, quantity, production lead time and inspection requirements. Shipping method, shipping charges and tax responsibilities are confirmed separately from production timing. Approve the final quotation and specification before ordering.
Send Your Drawing or Requirements
Use the enquiry form to send your project details and a file link, or email drawings to Custominsul@Custominsul.com. Include the product and specification. If the material grade or tolerance is uncertain, describe the intended use for review.
